Always at the back of my mind, has been the idea that the time would come when it would be my turn to move. To physically pick up my life and move it to a new location. The Universe has given me nudges over the years – a business that is based on my moving around, a partner who lives in another state, friends all over the country.
In the midst of all of this was my fixed Leo sign resisting change. And my love of Chicago and Lake Michigan, a place that has sustained me through many years and countless changes.
Finally in late August, with the Universe guiding me, it became time for me to move. I moved to Madison, WI, a place that I could not have seen myself in the past, but one that is right for me in this Now. It is a place where my partner and I can come together in comfort. I will miss Chicago and all those I hold dear, here by Lake Michigan. At the same time, I know that I will return here often to reconnect and to do my work, which has become both my livelihood and my life.
I have done a lot of reflection on home and where it “should” be. What I have come to understand, is that for me, home is within me and is wherever I go on this good green Earth. I have come to a place of acceptance, once again guided by the voice of my Grandmothers who advised me:
“When you relax into the acceptance of your life just as it is, you open up a space for change and growth. This is how change happens. Softening into acceptance takes away all of the resistance and all of the desire for control. This is how real change always happens – by relaxing into the space you occupy, looking around for what touches your heart and moving in that direction. Easy.”
Along with my moving the business will come some exciting changes in the next year. This website is being revised to make it more user friendly and interactive. My team and I are hoping to have it up and running by the beginning of 2015. Along with the new website will come a new book (more to come on that in a later post). It is a time of tremendous change all over the globe. I am hoping for all of us to move through this change with ease and grace.
