Sovereignty: The Power Within

Lately, I am focusing on the concept of sovereignty as it relates to the inner journey. To be clear about what I mean: it’s about being the master of my own destiny, while honoring the freedom of others to do the same. To live sovereign is to live fully—untethered, unafraid, and unapologetically authentic.
This is not a one-time decision. It’s a journey, an unfolding. Here are some ideas on how to start the process.
Know Who You Are
Self-awareness is the cornerstone of sovereignty. If you don’t know who you are, how can you possibly govern your own life?
Start by asking yourself some deep questions:
  • Who am I beneath all the labels? (Not just your job title, relationship status, or societal role.)
  • What do I truly value? (Not what you were taught to value, but what actually resonates with your soul.)
  • What are my beliefs, and are they even mine? (Or did they come from family, culture, or society?)
This level of introspection requires courage. You might discover beliefs that no longer serve you or values that you’ve outgrown. But that’s the beauty of sovereignty—you get to decide what stays and what goes.
Set Boundaries That Honor You
Here’s the truth: If you don’t respect yourself, nobody else will. Sovereignty requires setting boundaries—not walls, but healthy limits that protect your energy, time, and emotional well-being.
  • Say “no” without guilt. Your worth isn’t tied to how much you do for others.
  • Protect your peace. Not every battle is worth fighting, and not every opinion deserves your attention.
  • Surround yourself with people who honor your sovereignty. Choose relationships that uplift you, not drain you.
Setting boundaries doesn’t make you selfish; it makes you sovereign. You are declaring, “I value myself enough to protect my energy.”
Own Your Choices and Their Consequences
Sovereignty isn’t just about freedom—it’s about responsibility. When you claim your power, you also claim responsibility for your choices.
That means no more blaming others for your circumstances. No more excuses. No more victimhood.
  • If you’re unhappy, you have the power to change it.
  • If you’ve made mistakes, own them and learn.
  • If you have dreams, go after them without waiting for permission.
This is radical self-responsibility. It’s about saying, “No one else is responsible for my happiness, my success, or my fulfillment. I am.”
Things You Can Do To Assist the Process
Sovereignty isn’t a destination; it’s a practice—a daily choice to honor yourself and live your truth. Here are some practical ways to make it a habit:
  • Morning Rituals: Start your day with intentional practices like meditation, journaling, or affirmations.
  • Mindful Decisions: Before making decisions, ask yourself, “Is this in alignment with my truth and values?”
  • Reflect and Adjust: At the end of each day, reflect on where you honored your sovereignty and where you gave your power away. Adjust accordingly.
The journey to personal sovereignty is ongoing. There will be days when you falter, when old patterns resurface, or when external forces challenge your authority. But each time you choose to return to your center, you strengthen your sovereignty.
Be the Lion
Sovereignty is your birthright. It’s about reclaiming the throne of your own life—not as a ruler over others, but as the master of your own destiny.
When you are sovereign, no external power—no opinion, no circumstance, no fear—can dictate who you are or how you live. You become the supreme authority within your own realm, and in that realization lies the ultimate freedom.
So, claim it. Own it. Live it. The journey to personal sovereignty is the most powerful adventure you’ll ever undertake.
I’d love to hear your stories of claiming your own power.
The Stones of Sovereignty

Ruby
The first stone I think of when it comes to sovereignty is ruby. It is hard to think of any other stone that comes close to projecting the energy of power, acting from the heart and freedom.
Ruby is a stone of purification and transfiguration. It conveys power on those who use it. It feeds vital life-force energy and revitalizes the whole body. Ruby energizes all chakras—root to crown.
The fire energy within ruby ignites your soul’s purpose and offers information as to how best to fulfill it. It is a powerhouse of information when used in meditation.
Pietersite

Pietersite is sometimes called “the stone of kings”. It accelerates the ability to make decisions with compassion and clarity.
It is a stone of vision and acting on vision. Pietersite is a great stone to use with shamanic journey, it draws you into the web of creation and allows the strands of this web to light up and draw you in. Try this visioning with your own stone—set the intention to view the web of creation (or grid from which you manifest your life). You will be surprised at the clarity you can get with this intention.
Pietersite works with the 2nd, 5th and 8th chakras, accessing your ability to create and express on a high spiritual level.
Blue Quartz with Gold Danburite

This spectacular stone was recently found in Tanzania—very close to where tanzanite is found. To me, it has a completely new vibration.
It has come to light for the purpose of opening new awareness and a new level of compassion on Earth.
Blue Quartz invites you to use your intuition and your vision to bring something new to the table. When you access your 3rd eye or visionary capacity, do it with the full understanding of your own personal power (based solely in Love).
When you access your voice with this stone it can only be used in the service of Truth (again based in the highest vibration of Love).
For some reason this stone cried out to be paired with golden danburite which is found in the same region of Africa.
The danburite connects you to your own higher levels of consciousness. This is a definite power pairing for 2025 and beyond.
